Ladybug Family Child Care Basics...
** Ladybug FCC is a state licensed small family child care located in my home, and provides a loving, stress free environment for kids to play and have fun without the highly structured atmosphere of a child care center. We have ample play space in the yard, and my home is child safe and friendly with a kid's room full of toys. Please call and make an appointment to take a tour, we'd be happy to have you.
Child Care Provider Info...
My name is Shaina Lynch and I am a licensed child care provider and the mother of 3 children. I was born and raised in Simi Valley and Moorpark and moved to Fillmore 10 years ago along with most of my immediate family! I love children, and I keep a clean and healthy home which I feel is very child friendly. I operated a family child care for a few years 2004 thru 2007 but I am proud to start up again after my stint in the office world. I will happily provide references upon request.
Ladybug Family Child Care is for children ages 0-12. The costs are:
$100 per week Kindergarten & up
$125 per week ages 3 years (potty trained) to 5 ( non kindergarten )
$150 per week ages 18mos. to 3 years
$175 per week ages 6 weeks to 17 months
All fees are pre-paid for the week ahead. I ACCEPT CDR,CASH, CHECKS, CREDIT CARDS ( $4 fee ) and PAYPAL (payable to firstname.lastname@example.org ).
CDR ( subsidies )are gladly accepted and children can be watched once the notice of action is recieved. NO EXCEPTIONS!
There are NO REGISTRATION OR "SEMESTER" FEES like most day care centers!
Please Note: I only have a total of 8 spots available (by law) at my home and one of them is taken by my own 3 year old boy. I cannot accept part-time children unless you can pay the full weekly rate. As in all child care or day care settings, once enrolled, you must pay the tuition to reserve your child's spot whether or not they are able to attend for any reason ( illness ,vacation , etc).
Any questions feel free to ask!
What Ladybug Offers...
Please remember how very important having your child in a licensed and regulated facility is.
I am fully licensed and regulated by the Dept. of Social Services, Community Care Licencing Division. My home has been inspected and determined to be child safe by a CCLD licensing program analyst and will be annually as I am subjected to surprise visits. That means my house has been child-proofed, there are appropriate first aid supplies, working smoke detectors, fire extinguisher, and liability insurance. Everyone in the house has been fingerprinted and passed a thorough Department of Justice, FBI, and Child Abuse Index check. I have capacity limits, paperwork is maintained on all children, which includes immunization records which may not be opted out of just like a school as per the new law. It is not an easy process, but licensing is the right thing to do if you truly want to care for children.
I personally am required to be EMSA certified in Pediatric CPR, First Aid, and Health & Safety and must renew it every year.
None of this is required or checked upon if someone simply babysits many children. It is illegal for someone to babysit for more than one family of children if they are not licensed. For example, Sally Smith can have her own children and babysit your children, whether you have one or 10. If she takes on one more child not hers or yours, totally illegal.
I am also a part of the USDA Ventura County Food Program, which means I offer nutritious meals and snacks for the kids and am regulated by them as well with in home visits and observations of the meals I serve. They are surprise visits, for added assurance I am adhering to the guidelines daily.
***Being licensed isnt what I am all about though! There is the feeling that your child will have that he/she is at a friend or aunt's house, and not at a school institution like a child care center or preschool ( both of which are great, just not what a family child care home is supposed to be ). Children are all unique and different and so are parents and I dont feel the need to comform children to a specific curriculum. We learn through playing and observing and going and doing and interaction. I love the outdoors and nature!
I provide school drop-off/pick up from the three local elementary/preschools, Sespe, San Cayetano, and Fillmore Christian Academy/Sonshine. I may be able top do other schools, please ask. I provide homework help, and love taking kids on local excursions like the library and railroad station.
